The person I am going to tell you about is my grandfather’s friend. He is a professor at the mathematical department of XXX university. He says he is not good at socializing with other people. So after obtaining a doctoral degree, he chose to stay at the school and devote himself to science. He has published many papers and books, helping him accumulate some fame in the academic circle.
Actually, I meet him quite often. Every Saturday, I visit my grandpa and stay for a while. After lunch, he would appear at the doorstep this article is from laokaoya website and ask my grandfather to play chess. When one of them is thinking about the next move, the other leans back, takes a cup of tea, and enjoys it. It is their way to kill time.
Sometimes, when my grandpa is busy, I play with him for a moment. During the game, he often asks how I am doing at school and whether I have encountered any problems in study. If it is about math, he can always give me helpful advice, which, in most cases, solves my problem immediately.
Though he is knowledgeable, he is definitely not a good chess player. He always spends a lot of time thinking about the next move. But often, when he makes the decision, he regrets it and requests to retract it. If you disagree, he will get upset like a child. That is why I think he is interesting.
