雅思口语Part2话题卡：Describe an interesting conversation you had with a very old person 描述和老人的有趣谈话
谈话这个话题对于所有的人而言都不陌生，但是需要同学们格外注意此话题卡的核心词intersting，其意思为：If you find something interesting, it attracts your attention。因此，我们可以谈谈一些有意义的话题，例如未知的天文地理知识或者自己从来没有听说过的一些技艺或者故事等等。此外，old person并非older person，因此和你谈话的对象一定得是上了年纪的老人。
Describe an interesting conversation you had with a very old person
You should say:
Who this person is
Where you had the conversation
What you talked about
And explain how you felt about the experience
One intriguing conversation I had with an elderly individual occurred during a journey to Xi’an, the capital city of Shaanxi Province.
He was an elderly man, but I refrained from asking about his exact age out of respect. Our paths crossed on the train from my hometown to Xi’an, where I had opted for a bed seat due to the approximately 20-hour journey. It turned out that he was assigned the sleeping berth next to mine.
Given the extended duration of the journey, we engaged in conversation to pass the time. He revealed that he was a retired professor from a university in Xi’an, having recently visited his daughter, this article is from Laokaoya webiste, who was married in my hometown during the New Year holiday. It was evident that he possessed a deep understanding of both my hometown and Xi’an.
To me, he appeared highly knowledgeable, generously sharing historical anecdotes about Xi’an that aren’t commonly found in textbooks. Our discussions covered a wide range of topics, including history, politics, food, and culture. I particularly enjoyed hearing his accounts of supernatural occurrences in Xi’an and recent archaeological discoveries in the downtown area. Xi’an, being an ancient city, harbors cultural relics beneath its surface practically everywhere in the downtown area, awaiting exploration.
What made this conversation particularly fascinating was the wealth of information I gained from this retired professor. It felt akin to interacting with a living encyclopedia. We exchanged WeChat IDs and have remained in touch since.
