I am going to tell you about a nameless hill near my city. It is a marvelous place, close enough to reach within one hour’s drive but also far enough to get rid of the air and light pollution in the city. Standing at the peak, you can overlook the dazzling urban area spreading to the end of the horizon and appreciate the starry sky and even the galaxy that you can rarely see nowadays.
I knew it from my cousin at the last Mid-autumn festival. Back then, the torching summer had finally passed, and we ushered in the most desirable period of the year, with a mild temperature, clear blue sky, and gentle breeze. This article is from Laokaoya website. Under this circumstance, it would be a waste of life if you stayed home and indulged yourself in TV series or video games. Just when I was thinking about where to have a trip, my cousin called and invited me to camp on the hill. And that was the first time I had been there.
Since then, it has been my favorite camping spot, and I would go there almost every two weeks during Spring and Autumn. Sometimes, I would camp alone, but in most cases, I would invite several friends and bring our own ingredients, spices, and stove to have a barbeque. Although the food is not as delicious as those sold in the restaurants, the atmosphere is definitely more jubilant.
I am really fond of this place. It is so quiet that I can literally hear the insects chirping in the bushes and the firewood cracking during burning, let alone the constant singing of the birds. I feel my tense nerves resulting from the heavy study are soothed and the inner peace that has left me for a long time returns.
