Describe an occasion when you wasted your time
You should say
Where you were
When it was
What you did
And explain why you think it was a waste of time
The experience I am going to tell you happened during the last summer holiday. I had stayed at home for almost a month and was already fed up with various video games and TV programs. All of my friends seemed busy with their own stuff, so I was bored to death. One day, my best friend called me and asked if I wanted to have a one-day tour with him to Xi’an, a historical city, which used to be the capital of 13 dynasties. I said yes immediately.
I looked up the timetable of the coach on the internet and it seemed that there was only one departure a day at 7 am, this article is from laokaoya website, which means I had to get up at around 6 o’clock to catch it. For somebody like the elderly, it might be easy. But as a person who had always slept late in the last month, it was far too early.
Anyway, I managed to get to the coach stop just on time. But when I arrived, there were only my friend and me, nobody else. The day was just dawning and I could only see a cleaner sweeping on the street. We waited for about half an hour before another body showed up. He said the departure time of the coach had been changed to 8.00 recently because too many people complained about its irrationality. They must have not updated the information online in time.
I was a little angry. I set five alarms on my cellphone the night before so that I would not oversleep and miss the coach. But now you were telling me the time had been postponed. Why could not they change their online timetable simultaneously to avoid such inconvenience? Now, I had wasted a whole hour waiting at the bus stop, which could have been used to have a sound sleep.
