I am going to tell you about an experience that two children made a lot of noise in the museum. It was a Sunday afternoon last month. After idling at home on Saturday, I was bored to death. So I decided to take a trip to the Erlitou Site Museum of the Xia capital. As its name suggests, it is a museum focusing on Xia, the first recorded dynasty lasting from about 2070 B.C. to 1600 B.C. Although it is in the suburb of my city, I actually learnt about it from TikTok and had never been there before.

Just when I was appreciating the various items made of jade, clay, or bronze, whose history could be traced back to thousands of years ago, I heard a burst of footsteps. Then two children appeared at the door of the exhibition hall, chasing each other, and laughing out loud. The one who fell behind was shouting “wait for me, wait for me”. This article is from Laokaoya website. They passed through the hall quickly and disappeared from my sight, but after a while, they turned up again. It seemed that they were circling in the building.

I tried to stop them to tell them that it was not appropriate to run in the museum. They would disturb others and might knock down invaluable antiques. But even before I could finish a sentence, they had escaped the range where my voice could reach. I then tried to find their parents but failed either.

Actually, I could totally understand them. In their eyes, these historical objects were no more than a bunch of craps, which could not arouse their interest at all. Chasing was far more fascinating. But this could not excuse their bad behavior and their parents should teach them how to behave properly in a public place.

Part 3

What kinds of places should be noise-free?

Can people bring children to these noise-free places?

Why can’t people make noise in a church?

What public morals should people follow in your country?
