I’d like to talk about my classmate Li Hua, who is surprisingly good at singing. To be honest, our interests are totally different. She usually spends her free time doing sports or reading, while I prefer watching movies. So even though we’re in the same class and sometimes work together on things like presentations or competitions, we’re not super close.
我想聊的人是我的同学李华，她的歌声真的特别好听。老实说，我们俩的兴趣完全不同。她平时喜欢运动和看书，而我更喜欢看电影。所以虽然我们是同班同学，也偶尔会一起参加一些活动，比如做展示或者学术竞赛，但我们关系并不是特别亲密。
About two months ago, after we got really good feedback from our teacher on a group project, we decided to celebrate by going to a karaoke place near our school. The place wasn’t fancy at all—the equipment was quite average, but it was cheap and close to campus, so it’s always busy. We had to wait for a while before getting a room.

Her singing really touched me. It felt like someone was gently telling a story right in my ear, full of memories about youth and the past. It even brought me back to my carefree childhood, when I used to play fun little games in the fields with neighbors. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced music that powerful and moving in real life before.
