Do you like morning or evening? 你更喜欢早上还是晚上？

I definitely prefer the evening. I normally have classes in the morning, so I have to get up early and spend several hours sitting in a classroom, which isn’t exactly my favorite thing to do. In the evening, I usually have much more time to myself, so I can play games, exercise, or just relax. I really enjoy having that freedom.

我肯定更喜欢晚上。我早上通常都有课，所以不得不早起，然后在教室里坐上几个小时，这显然不是我最喜欢做的事情。到了晚上，我通常会有更多属于自己的时间，可以打游戏、锻炼或者单纯放松一下。我很喜欢这种自由支配时间的感觉。

I normally use the evening to relax after a day of studying. Sometimes I play video games with a few friends who live in another city, which is a nice way for us to keep in touch. What did you do in the evening when you were little? Why? 你小的时候晚上一般做什么？为什么？

I spent a lot of my evenings playing outside with other children in my neighborhood. We would play hide-and-seek or just run around and chase each other downstairs. My parents didn’t let me play video games when I was that young, and they also limited the amount of TV I could watch, so going outside and playing with my friends was basically my main form of entertainment.

小时候，我很多晚上都会和小区里的其他孩子一起在外面玩。我们会玩捉迷藏，或者就在楼下到处跑、互相追着玩。那时候我父母不让我玩电子游戏，而且也会限制我看电视的时间，所以出去和朋友一起玩基本就是我最主要的娱乐方式。

Are there any differences between what you do in the evening now and what you did in the past? 你现在在晚上做的事情和之前有什么区别吗？

Yes, quite a lot. When I was little, I spent most of my evenings outside playing with other children, but nowadays I tend to stay indoors more. I have coursework and IELTS preparation to deal with, so I usually don’t have as much free time as I did back then. Still, I try to leave some time in the evening to play games or exercise because I find it difficult to study effectively without taking a break.

有，区别还是挺大的。小时候，我晚上大部分时间都会在外面和其他孩子一起玩，但现在我更多时候会待在室内。我需要完成课程作业，还要准备雅思考试，所以不像小时候那样有那么多空闲时间。不过，我还是会尽量在晚上留出一些时间打游戏或者锻炼，因为如果完全不休息的话，我觉得自己很难保持较高的学习效率。
