The noisy place I’d like to talk about is a buffet restaurant called BISA in the city center of my hometown. I first went there about five years ago, and since then, it’s become one of my go-to places whenever a group of friends gets together for a meal.

我想说的这个吵闹的地方是我家乡市中心一家名叫BISA的自助餐厅。我第一次去那里大概是在五年前。从那以后，每当一群朋友聚餐的时候，它就成了我经常会去的地方之一。

The main reason we like it is that it has a huge selection of food and drinks. My friends have completely different tastes, so choosing a normal restaurant that everyone is happy with can be surprisingly difficult. At a buffet, that’s hardly an issue because everyone can simply pick whatever they fancy. Some of us go straight for the seafood and meat, while others prefer desserts, salads or cooked dishes, so it caters to everyone’s tastes pretty well.

The downside, though, is the noise. The dining hall is enormous and is usually packed with customers, especially in the evening and at weekends. This article is from Laokaoya website. Once you sit down, there’s this constant wall of sound around you. You can hear dozens of conversations going on at the same time, people laughing across tables, children calling out to their parents, plates and cutlery clattering, and staff constantly clearing tables and bringing out more food.

不过，它的缺点就是太吵了。餐厅面积非常大，但里面通常还是挤满了顾客，尤其是在晚上和周末。坐下来之后，周围几乎一直被各种声音包围着。你能同时听到几十桌客人在聊天，有人大声笑着和同桌的人说话，有孩子喊自己的父母，还有盘子和餐具不断碰撞的声音，工作人员也一直在收拾桌子或者补充食物。

On top of all that, they normally have upbeat background music playing, which just adds another layer of noise. The funny thing is that because everyone is struggling to make themselves heard, people naturally start speaking louder, which makes the whole place even noisier. Sometimes I have to lean across the table and practically shout just to have a conversation with the person sitting opposite me.

I’ve been there so many times that I’ve learned not to expect a quiet conversation. If my friends and I have something important to catch up on, we normally focus on the food first and then find somewhere quieter afterwards where we can actually hear each other. So despite being one of my favorite places for a group meal, it’s definitely also one of the noisiest restaurants I’ve ever been to.
