What city do you live in? 你住在哪个城市？

I live in Chengdu, which is a large city in southwest China. It’s actually my hometown, so I’ve lived there for most of my life. It’s probably best known for Sichuan food and giant pandas, but for me, it’s simply the city where I grew up and went to school.

我住在成都，这是中国西南部的一座大城市。它其实也是我的家乡，所以我人生中的大部分时间都生活在那里。成都最出名的可能是川菜和大熊猫，不过对我来说，它就是我从小长大、上学的城市。

Do you like this city? Why? 你喜欢这个城市吗？为什么？

Yes, I do, especially because of the food. I’ve grown up eating Sichuan food, so I’m a huge fan of spicy dishes like hotpot and mapo tofu. There are also restaurants almost everywhere, so it’s really easy to find something good to eat, even quite late at night.

喜欢，尤其是因为这里的美食。我从小吃川菜长大，所以特别喜欢火锅、麻婆豆腐之类的辣味菜肴。而且成都到处都有餐馆，所以即使到了比较晚的时候，也很容易找到好吃的东西。

How long have you lived in this city? 你在这个城市住了多久了？

I’ve lived in Chengdu for most of my life. I was born there and went to school there, so I’ve spent many years in the city. I’ve also seen it change quite a lot as I’ve grown up, especially in terms of public transport and the number of new buildings.

我人生中的大部分时间都住在成都。我在那里出生，也在那里上学，所以已经生活了很多年。随着自己慢慢长大，我也看到这座城市发生了不少变化，尤其是在公共交通以及新建建筑的数量方面。

Are there big changes in this city? 这个城市有没有发生很大的变化？

Yes, definitely. The biggest change I’ve noticed is probably the transport system. There are many more metro lines now, which makes it much easier to get around the city. This article is from Laokaoya website. There are also lots of new shopping malls, apartment buildings, and office towers, so some areas look completely different from how I remember them as a child.

有，当然有。我注意到最大的变化可能就是交通系统。现在成都的地铁线路多了很多，所以在城市里出行方便了不少。另外，也出现了很多新的购物中心、住宅楼以及写字楼，因此有些地方和我小时候记忆中的样子已经完全不同了。

Is this city your permanent residence? 这个城市是你的永久居住地吗？

For now, yes. My family is there, and I’ve lived there for such a long time that I feel very comfortable and familiar with the city. I might move somewhere else for work or study in the future, but I think I’ll always see Chengdu as my home.

目前来说，是的。我的家人在那里，而且我已经在那里生活了很长时间，所以对这座城市非常熟悉，也觉得很自在。以后我可能会因为工作或者学习搬到其他地方，但我觉得自己应该一直都会把成都当作家乡。

Are there people of different ages living in this city? 这座城市中有不同年龄段的人居住吗？

Yes, of course. Chengdu is a huge city, so you can find people of pretty much every age there. There are lots of students and young professionals, but there are also plenty of families with children and older people. The mix can be quite noticeable in places like parks, shopping malls, and residential neighborhoods.

当然有。成都是一座很大的城市，所以几乎各个年龄段的人都能看到。这里有很多学生和年轻上班族，也有不少带孩子的家庭以及老年人。在公园、购物中心以及居民区之类的地方，这种不同年龄段人群混合在一起的情况尤其明显。
