The most common way for Chinese to show their politeness is to send gifts, which not only refer to those daily necessities like alcohol or fruits but also include Hongbao, which is a red envelope that contains a huge some of cash. I think this red envelope thing really helps improve people’s relationship, you know, sometimes the greater the value of the gift is, the stronger politeness we can sense from the giver.
在中国一个比较常见的表达礼节的方式就是送礼，礼物不仅仅局限于一些日常用品，比如酒或者水果，而且还有红包，一种装有现金的信封。我认为这种红包不仅仅增加了人们的感情，而且有的时候呢，礼物越贵重，越能从中感觉到送礼者的心意。
