I chose history because I’ve always been interested in what happened in the past and why certain events happened the way they did. I also think we can learn quite a lot from the decisions people made in the past, including both their successes and their mistakes. In some ways, history helps me understand what’s happening in the world today as well.

我选择历史，是因为我一直对过去发生过什么，以及一些历史事件为什么会以那样的方式发生很感兴趣。我还觉得我们可以从过去人们做出的决定中学到很多东西，无论是他们的成功还是犯过的错误。在某种程度上，历史也能帮助我理解今天这个世界正在发生的一些事情。

Yes, definitely. Sometimes reading about history feels a bit like reading a novel because there are so many interesting people, conflicts, and unexpected events. What makes it even more interesting is that these things actually happened. This article is from Laokaoya website. I also enjoy trying to understand why people made certain decisions and what happened as a result.

是的，当然有。有时候读历史有点像读小说，因为里面有很多有意思的人物、冲突以及意想不到的事件。更有意思的是，这些事情都是真实发生过的。我也很喜欢琢磨当时的人为什么会做出某些决定，以及这些决定最终带来了什么结果。

What subject(s) are you studying? 你目前在学习哪些科目？

History is my main subject, so most of my courses are related to different periods and aspects of history. I also take a few other subjects, including French and Economics. I quite like having some variety because studying the same kind of thing all the time can get a bit repetitive.

历史是我的主要科目，所以我的大部分课程都与不同历史时期以及历史的不同方面有关。除此之外，我还会学习其他一些科目，包括法语和经济学。我挺喜欢这种课程上的多样性，因为如果一直学习同一类型的东西，有时候也会觉得有点单调。

Do you prefer to study in the mornings or the afternoons? 你喜欢在早上还是下午学习？

I prefer studying in the afternoon because I normally have more energy then. I know some people can get up early and study really efficiently in the morning, but I’m definitely not a morning person. I find it quite difficult to concentrate just after I wake up, so the afternoon usually works better for me.

我更喜欢下午学习，因为那个时候我通常精力更加充沛。我知道有些人能够早起，而且早上的学习效率很高，但我肯定不是一个喜欢早起的人。我刚睡醒的时候很难集中注意力，所以对我来说，下午学习通常更加合适。

Are you looking forward to working? 你期待工作吗？

Not really, at least not at the moment. Some people I know who have already started working seem to have much less free time than they did as students. They also have a lot more responsibility, which can be quite stressful. I’m sure there are good things about having a job as well, but for now, I’m quite happy being a student.

不太期待，至少目前是这样。我认识的一些已经参加工作的人似乎比做学生的时候少了很多空闲时间，而且他们还需要承担更多的责任，有时候压力也会比较大。当然，我相信工作也有工作带来的好处，不过就目前而言，我还是挺享受学生生活的。

Do you like your subject? Why or why not? 你喜欢自己的科目吗？为什么？

Yes, I do. I’m really into history because it helps me look at things from different perspectives rather than simply accepting the first explanation I hear. I also have a really good teacher who makes the subject much more interesting by telling us stories and encouraging us to discuss different interpretations of historical events.
