What do people usually buy on the street market? 人们通常在街市上买什么？

I think it depends on the market. At some street markets, people mainly buy everyday things like fruit, vegetables, snacks, and other groceries because they’re often quite affordable. At others, especially those in tourist areas, you can find things like handicrafts, souvenirs, and locally made products.

我觉得这要看具体是什么样的街市。在一些街市上，人们主要购买水果、蔬菜、零食以及其他日常食品，因为这些东西的价格通常比较实惠。而在另外一些街市，尤其是旅游景点附近的市场，人们还可以买到手工艺品、纪念品以及当地制作的特色商品。

Do you prefer to go shopping in the shopping mall or on the street market? 你倾向于在购物商场买东西还是在街市买东西？

I’d probably choose a shopping mall. Things at street markets can be cheaper and sometimes more interesting, but I care quite a lot about product quality, especially when I’m buying something expensive.
